*Introduction to the Dreamer*

Perhaps, an introduction is called for before we fully set sail on this exciting new venture. My name is Megan Claire Bybee. Fondly referred to as Meg, Megzi, Megs, Megsickle;) and Bubbles by my current employer at the coffee shop where I work, as yes…a waitress [Clichéd start to a famous career---perhaps but completely unintentional ;)]. I am currently in my 3^rd and final year of university, UCT, to be precise, majoring in Politics, English and French. Yes…I am a BA kid and proud of it because I refuse to be pigeon holed into one career. And despite the stereotypes around my degree, I am an ambitious young woman who is going to make it big with my ‘fluffy’ degree…all those doubters…just watch me! Yes, feisty and independent, a Roedean School girl I am. As my Dad likes to say I am tenacious and full of gumption [Favourite word].  J’adore la France…la mode de vie, la langue, le romance des petits villages françaises. As goes with lovely all things French it is only natural, I assume, that I am by nature a hopeless romantic. I am in love with those moments where the violins swell and girl and boy realise that they are meant for each other in just. one. kiss. I love with all my heart, as Shakespeare so aptly wrote of Othello, “not wisely but too well”. Indeed. A creative soul I am, constantly doodling in lecture notes, going crazy on blank canvases, writing the occasional spot of poetry, pouring my heart out in my diary and well, now, creating a blog. I love music…so so much! It is a big passion in my life. I cannot go a single moment in the day without the accompaniment of music, providing the soundtrack to my life. I love listening to the radio, hearing a song I like and immediately Googling the lyrics and obtaining the song. Also I am an extreme mix tape maker…creating a never ending stream of CDs for friends, my boyfriend and even family. Lovelovelove it!!! Yes this is me in a nutshell…friend, lover, daughter, sister, hopeless romantic and dreamer!

I have had many dreams in my short 20 years…actress, singer, radio presenter, photographer, journalist, coffee shop owner, political analyst, magazine editor…writer. I would give a lot to be one of those people who have an innate knowledge of exactly what they want to become and how they are going to get there. However, I am one of those lucky beings that get to “sail into the future on mystery’s wings”. (Stargirl – Jerri Spinelli) . Nevertheless, I do have certain goals that I would love to achieve. Call it my mission statement. My dreams. Or my life’s calling. I want to make a difference I the world. I want to make people happy and in return be happy. I want to be that fashionable ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ type personality who touches so many poeple’s lives with her stories, wit and charm. How do I get there? Not. A. Clue.  But, I suppose, a blog where I can unleash my creativity and dream big with no limitations is a good place to start. So here goes…to a new start, hopefully the beginning of bright sparkling future. So let us raise a glass of the finest, pink Moët champagne and toast to dreaming big, fresh starts and following your heart.
